About

About Holly:
I practice as a psychotherapist, and I specialize in treating and counseling persons who suffer from trauma, addictions, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, chronic illness and more. My license as a Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) allows me to treat individuals, couples, and families. For the last 12 years, I have been helping people heal and grow.

Education and Training: I earned both my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) and my Masters in Educational Psychology from the University of Southern California (USC). I earned my Bachelors in Political Science and my Minor in East Asian Studies from UCLA. I completed my training for substance abuse treatment at the CLARE Foundation in Santa Monica, CA, and my training for eating disorder treatment at The Bella Vita in Los Angeles. At these sites, I expanded my knowledge and experience to the prevalent co-occurring disorders, such as trauma, depression, and anxiety. I completed my EMDR training at the EMDR Institute. As a licensed therapist, I was fortunate enough to have taken on management roles as Program Manager at The Bella Vita and Clinical Director at Phoenix House in Orange County, in which I was able to supervise and train new therapists and counselors.

Therapy Style: Since all individuals are so unique in their struggles, strengths, and needs, I treat each individual on a case-by-case basis to determine which treatment modalities  and skills will be most effective. What is always present and consistent in my work with clients is my emphasis for an insight-oriented, process-oriented, and somatic-focused approach to healing. I believe that by becoming more aware of ourselves (both the conscious and less conscious parts) and by learning to trust our bodies, we can more effectively work towards our goals and well-being.

Language Skills: Although born and raised in California, I was fortunate enough to be raised multilingual – I am non-native fluent in Mandarin Chinese (中文/普通話) and conversationally proficient in Taiwanese Hokkien (臺灣閩南語).

My credentials and experience give me the tools and skills to help you, but my compassion, my collaborative nature, and my unconditional positive regard creates the safe place you need to heal. Even when you have lost hope, I will be there with you.
